Santana joins the effort to Retire Roberto Clemente’s 21 !

July 4th, 2008

Edgar Santana joins Julio Pabon and Latino Sports’ RETIRE 21 campaign to request that Roberto Clemente’s playing number be officially retired by Major League Baseball.

Roberto Clemente is one of the best players to have played the game of baseball. His example goes beyond that of a great player, it exemplifies the ultimate sacrifice that great humanitarians give for their beliefs. His name is recognized and adorns hundreds of public and private institutions throughout this country, his homeland, Puerto Rico and throughout the world.

In honor of the movement Edgar Santana will begin to display a “Retire 21″ patch on his fight apparel and will engage in events that deliver that message.
